DENTAL FOUNDATION

It is the purpose of the Upper Valley JVS Dental Foundation to provide and coordinate dental services for students in need.  The creation of the foundation evolved over many years.  It was developed as the result of years of observing students who were in need of dental attention, but who, because of situations at home, did not have the privilege of money or insurance to pay for these things.  To most people, dental care is a basic requirement of life.  To many students it is an unaffordable luxury.

Many students do not receive the dental attention they need, and the health implications are huge.  The self-esteem implications are secondary, but no less important.  The foundation has, to date, assisted three students.  It has become apparent that without additional funds, our ability to address this great need will be very limited in the future.  This foundation has begun to make a contribution to the community by promoting preventative dental practices among the students at the JVS and by improving the health of the students who have received dental services through the foundation.  It is our hope the foundation will gain financial support and continue to grow.
