Tax Incentives and Rebates for Businesses and Residents Switching to Alternative Electricity Sources Explained in Free Seminars
Upper Valley JVS Adult Division is offering two free seminars on Thursday, August 12 to help home owners and businesses managers take the guesswork out of energy tax incentives, rebates, and grant programs. Presenters from Energy Wize, a division of Dancraft Construction of Troy and Battelle & Battelle, LLP of Dayton will speak to the needs of commercial enterprises in a 4 p.pm. session to be conducted at the UVJVS Applied Technology Center on Looney Road, Piqua. "Whenever people talk to us about our Alternative Energy training program, they ask about the start-up costs and the payback period," said Art Bowser program coordinator. Bowser says this information has changed considerably over the past few years as the costs come down, availability increases, and the payback period shortens. "These federal and vendor initiatives are having an impact, but there is a great deal of confusion about the viability of these alternative electricity sources." Bowser explained. The facts regarding qualification requirements, options, and reasonable expectations for return on investment will be detailed by the experts. A second session to be conducted at 6 p.m. also on August 12 will address the same issue of incentives, grants, and rebates as they pertain to residential installations.
Bowser says this is an exciting time for the students and staff involved in alternative energy training at the Upper Valley. He encourages business managers, owners, and homeowners to attend either seminar and consider what is right for their application. "We invite people to attend these seminars and check out the working solar and wind systems right here on campus, " he concluded
