General Description:
The UVJVS Adult Division HCA program was established in affiliation with Homecare University and the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC). Upon completion of this 75 hour course, skills checklist, and successful completion of certification by exam; students may have employment opportunities with either of the two sponsoring companies or a myriad of other local providers.

Pre-Assessments are required to be eligible to participate in the program which include taking a basic skills assessment, submitting to a state mandated background check, and drug screen. 
The program is sponsored currently by:
Caring Hearts Home Health Care, Inc. and Blackstone Healthcare.

Employment Opportunities
If you have ever considered working in health care before, now may be the time. This HCA program might just be the start of a new career. Over the next 10 years, demand for home care aides is expected to rise more than 40% as the population ages, life expectancy increases for people with disabilities, and patient advocates push to keep the elderly and disabled out of institutions.

Successful completion of this HCA program will qualify you to work for a Home Care Agency; work as a Medicare/Medicaid Home Health Aide; work as a PASSPORT Personal Care Aide or Homemaker; or work as a Private Pay Aide.

Cost/Tuition
$500 - Partial scholarships may be available.

Class Hours:
Monday through Thursday 
10am-5pm as scheduled.
