Building Automation:
Students will learn how an Energy Management System can save energy/money by monitoring the building environment and automatically adjusting the system in the most efficient manner. Energy Information Systems and how they tie-in to an EMS will be explained. Direct Digital Controls will be explored in a hands-on lab. Students will learn selection and location of system sensors and gain an understanding of how EMS software operates a DDC system, which will control the building’s HVAC and Lighting systems. Students will learn how the new, variable electrical controls are replacing the older pneumatic systems.
