Basic Electricity
Students will understand the electrical theory needed to work with powered equipment.
- Electrical safety and basic National Electrical Code standards
- Terminology (volts, amps, watts, ohms)
- AC and DC circuits, schematics, and meter usage
- Circuit and line resistance, Voltage drop
- Power distribution, single phase and 3 phase.
- Introduction to transformers, relays, motors, and capacitors
- Ohms Law, (calculation of electrical power)
